Pulmonary Fibrosis
Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis is a diagnosis based on a Pulmonary function test, genetic testing and a High-Resolution CT scan of the chest and an extensive history of exposures. This disease is of unknown etiology. However many patients with this diagnosis share multiple risk factors such as smoking, chemical exposure, radiation, exposure to farm animals, among others. The physiological process can be described as hardening of the lungs, making the lung, less elastic.
